Why?

I have been wanting to visualize an operating system that simply gives you access to information and takes out the presentation from the hands of content providers and completely empowers you with doing justice to your time and your attention. No adds. An interface should allow you to get your job done and allow you to go back to the world, people and your life. You would rather spend your time on a concept or an idea or a conversation than a screen!

We wouldn't need a Word Processor. The Operating system is it. You create content right away, edit photos, text, animations, videos. You dont need to save files. There wont be a need for files but stories, conversations, podcasts, articles, paper napkin sketches, doodles, storyboards,, websites, lectures, blueprints, mindmaps, etc. The operating system allows you to link stuff around that makes sense to you and you can publish it as a web portal true to the word PORTAL. Others can make edits, you can control those edits. If anyone has information, they can share that with you, not the adds, not the page that asks you to subscribe and login before showing you anything, not the menu or the stylesheet. The tool can build a viewport for you to view a website with content presented to you the way you want to see it.

The Design

I was looking at existing examples; Chrome OS that tries to get you to access information as directly as possible by being an internet browser without too many wrappers. This approach is similar to what Safari does to content in 'Reader View'. A plausible solution for this could be an interface that shows you most contextual results. Nothing else unless you ask for 'explore mode' explicitly. The main outline of said solution can be the re-visualizing the way contexts take over in interfaces. Say we are not bound by metaphors created by IBM, Apple or Windows. Every input and output being weighed by or being painted/coloured by "IN-WHICH" and "ON-WHICH" contexts.
